She brings along her handicapped sister on her quest and on the way their personal demons start to. Gone to See the River Man is mostly written in the third person from Lori's point of view, but does occasionally jump to her sister Abby and back and forwards through the two time periods the story is set in Lori wanted to be with Edmund, and I guess part of her freeing her dark side once and for all meant finishing what she started with Abby all those years before.
